Solar Project Developer

Leap29 is searching for a Solar Project Developer to join an established company in the Northeast, with preferred locations in New Jersey (NJ), Pennsylvania (PA), and Delaware (DE), although other locations may be considered.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Development Leadership:
    • Lead project development activities including site control, permitting, electrical interconnection, and engineering.
  • Coordination:
    • Coordinate with internal and external subject matter experts in real estate, permitting, electrical interconnection, and engineering.
  • Project Management:
    • Own project inputs and assumptions, coordinating updates with internal groups.
    • Manage project progress, risks, opportunities, and economics, providing thoughtful analysis and risk evaluation.
  • Due Diligence:
    • Manage or support due diligence activities for acquisitions.
  • Negotiation:
    • Negotiate lease/purchase options and agreements for site control.
  • Engineering Coordination:
    • Coordinate engineering activities for permits and interconnection matters.
    • Work closely with the engineering team to support design and EPC processes.
  • Task Management:
    • Identify and track key development tasks, managing budgets for each project.

Requirements:

  • Academic and Professional Achievement:
    • Proven record of academic and professional success.
  • Communication Skills:
    • Well-developed communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate within a small team.
  • Organizational Skills:
    • Demonstrated organizational acumen, with experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Educational Background:
    • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience:
    • 2-5 years of experience in the energy or renewables sector.
