Job Description:

This part-time position, based at Laurel Ridge Middleton Campus, entails working 28 hours per week under the supervision of the Director of Adult Education. The primary responsibility is managing Chromebooks used in Adult Education classrooms across the region. The technician collaborates with IT personnel in schools, two correctional facilities, and business establishments to ensure system compliance. Additionally, the technician supports teachers and students in software accessibility, responds to IT requests within 24 hours, facilitates remote testing, coordinates IT needs with Laurel Ridge IT Team, obtains quotes for educational software, and assists with Chromebook functions during semester registrations. This position also involves assisting with Facebook postings.

Compensation:

The hourly rate ranges from $25.59 to $34.55, depending on experience. This part-time position does not exceed 29 hours per week and does not offer health or leave benefits. However, educational benefits may be available through professional development and educational assistance policies.

Telework:

According to DHRM policy 1.61 Teleworking, Virginia state employees will return to the workplace effective July 5, 2022. Telework may be considered for eligible positions based on job requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

Extensive experience with Google Workspace for Education, WiFi connectivity, Microsoft Office Suite, and assessing instructional hardware and software requirements.
Effective communication skills across various platforms, including email, telephone, and in-person interactions, to collaborate with students, college staff, and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in proctoring online assessments.
Proficiency in Spanish.
